Clients
I am a client of Phinney’s Friends since 1999.
It all started when I adopted Abigail and Rosemary — two female cats. I asked for a young cat, which I could have got, but it turns out to be that Abby and Rosemary needed a home. And I was so lucky to be asked if I would take them. It’s a blessing to me. I wouldn’t give them up for anything.
They were 9 years old when they came to me, and now they are 19. That’s when I found out about Phinney’s Friends. And, believe me, they are more than just friends.
They helped me with shots, food and friendship. When I found out that they were closing, it hurt not because I would have to pay for everything. But I felt like I was losing part of my family.
I live with HIV and been living with it for 18 years. That’s why I felt abandoned when Phinney’sFriends had to close.
But then I found out the some volunteers decided to keep it going, which means God works in strange ways because I realize that people do care about what happens to you.
I can’t express how much I am grateful to have people who care back in our lives.”
