How to Help Us

It costs a great deal of money and work to provide assistance to those who cannot care for their pets due to illness and financial hardship. We depend on the generosity of people like you to be able to continue this work.

There are many ways for you to help low-income families keep their pets through Phinney’s Friends. The animals and people we provide services to now and in the future will greatly benefit from your participation.

What does Phinney’s Friends need the most?
People committed to volunteer with us for at least a year, who are willing to make phone calls or care for a family on a regular basis. We have a variety of volunteer tasks, from direct assistance to clients to behind-the-scenes project coordination. We also need volunteers who are able to provide foster care in their homes for cats and dogs.

We appreciate monetary donations of any value, as we pay for veterinary services, boarding, and daily care items for our clients and foster families.

You may volunteer on a regular basis or be available for one-off tasks. Please note that volunteers working with directly clients must be 18 years old, but administrative tasks are an option for volunteers aged 16 and up. Find out more and contact us on our Become a Volunteer page.

Donate money

Monetary donations are preferred because most of our expenses are vet bills. You can donate through PayPal with a one-time payment or on a monthly basis, or send us a check. The number of people calling us for help is skyrocketing, and our needs are growing.

Gift certificates to animal-related sites (Petco, PetSmart, are always welcome. We can buy much-needed supplies for dogs, cats, and their owners through these stores.

If you’d like to send a check, please make it payable to Phinney’s Friends, PO Box 425, Lincoln, MA 01773.
